Think about it

• Nobody heard of them at first
• They made a massive comeback and became well-known
• Other fandoms may have even gone to them for deduction or observation work
• They were regarded as eccentric, but people generally didn’t mind them
• Then all of a sudden The Hobbit came out and people began to wonder if the crossovers were going too far. 
• People began openly saying that they hated the sherlock fandom
• It is now a known thing on tumblr to hate the sherlock fandom
• We have no idea what we’ve even done to deserve that hate. 
• People may even love to hate the sherlock fandom, and some may only hate them because of what other people have said, and not through direct experience. 

Seriously though guys, you can’t hate someone for crossing over two characters who happen to be played by the same actor/actress. Everybody does it, don’t single out ONE fandom and place the blame on them, just because you might love to hate them. 

No my problem with the Sherlock fandom (which I am in as well) is that they’re talking about screaming “JAWN” when Bilbo shows up on screen, or shouting loud, annoying Sherlock jokes all through the Hobbit movie.

Which is entirely fucked up.

If you waited as long as Ringers have (me in my wonderment going to the first showing of the Fellowship and on (my emails and messenger names almost all have something to do with LOTR)) just to have some dickhead from some unrelated fandom (I don’t care who is in what. Just because you like Sherlock Holmes and Martin Freeman and Benedict Cumberbatch are in it as well at the Hobbit, it does not make the fandoms connected.) screeching bullshit in the middle of a movie you are seeing for the first fucking time.

It’s rude, disrespectful, and asinine. And I will physically go after anyone who does it when I go to see it. If you live in the Bay Area of California and you are going to a showing of the Hobbit and decide to scream Sherlock shit, I will introduce you to my fists.

And I’m sure they’re just talking about doing that, too.  

Surely you know enough of tumblr by now to realize that they’re not being serious? What kind of dick would actually scream out “JAWWWNN” in a cinema?

Look, that’s not specific to the sherlock fandom, if someone calls out like that in a cinema and ruins people’s experience, they’re being an asshole, not a sherlockian, and there’s no need to hate the fandom as a whole for something that people probably aren’t even going to do because they most likely want to actually watch it too. 
There are some posts just saying things like “petition to lock up the sherlock fandom” and even some posts about comparing them to jews during the holocaust.
Now I’m usually easy-going on the internet, but seriously? Victimizing an entire fandom and hating them for a few douchebags? There are douchebags in EVERY fandom, and I mean every single one.
Please don’t judge the fandom by a handful of fans that stick out because they’re being stupid. 
Oh, and I do happen to be a Ringer as well as a Sherlockian, so I do realise how long we’ve had to wait. That’s no excuse for unnecessary hate.  

Like I said, I’m in the Sherlock fandom, too. I love the BBC show, it’s great. I don’t sign petitions about the Sherlock fandom, I giggle about their deductions and I grow enthralled when they notice something I didn’t (like the Cabbie’s family or Mrs. Hudson getting snagged while walking away from Sherlock’s grave)

I will get angry (very totally angry) if some dickweed ruins my Hobbit experience. And because I have never seen such blatant disregard for the feelings of others regarding a movie in a cinema (did the Sherlockians talk about going to see Frankenstein and screaming about JAWN? Nope. Did Loki fans talk about going to see War Horse and calling out “LOKI’D” into the darkness? Not at all) SO, yea, I am pointing a finger at Sherlockians. If they be foolish and disrespectful enough to scream about fucking Sherlock in the middle of something so completely unrelated I could puke? I’ll fucking go after them. And they can feel free to post on their tumblr about some crazy fucker breaking their face. It’s not cool. It’s not cute or funny or worthy or being protected. It is bullshit, utter and complete bullshit. 

Those Doctor Who twats have a hard enough time discerning reality from fiction, but thankfully they don’t go and see movies I do. Hopefully the Sherlock fans can figure their shit out well enough, or be too embarrassed, to be so fucking stupid as to scream in a theater.

(Though if you could check out my follow list you’d see how many Sherlock blogs I have on the thing. In fact, because Ringers often seem to be unable to just leave people alone when they don’t like a character you like, I have more Sherlockians than Ringers, even if I love LOTR far, far more than Sherlock.)

I am not afraid to unfollow some twatwaffle for being a cunt bag. Be it for joking about screaming Sherlock shit in the Hobbit, or for posting endlessly about how fucking cool Frodo is and how anyone who doesn’t like him is stupid or undeserving of their own fucking opinion. But that’s easy, that’s an unfollow and done.

I will only get one single chance to see the Hobbit for the first time. Going to see it again later because some asshole can’t keep her shit to herself will totally ruin some shit. And I am completely justified there. I should get that chance. If I were to interrupt the first episode of Season 3 (on all feeds, on the TV stations and all over so a few lines of dialog were missed completely) in order to make a Hannibal Lecter reference, tumblr would burn to the ground.
